DI Jimmy Perez returns in Ann Cleeves' new book

Author Ann Cleeves has announced that DI Jimmy Perez will return in her upcoming book, The Killing Stones. This marks a new chapter for the character, who left Shetland for Orkney in the story. Cleeves revealed the book cover on social media, generating excitement among fans. Many expressed hopes for a new BBC adaptation featuring Douglas Henshall, who portrayed Perez in the TV series from 2013 to 2022. Despite Henshall's departure, the BBC crime drama Shetland continues with DI Ruth Calder leading the series. A 10th season is confirmed to air in 2025.
