Devon grandmother gets paracetamol after 92-day NHS wait, family seeks India treatment

A 79-year-old British grandmother whose liver tumour doubled while waiting 92 days for NHS treatment says she was sent home with paracetamol; her family is now seeking care in India. Marie Stibbe, from Devon, was diagnosed with liver cancer in March and began immunotherapy in June, after the tumour grew from 7cm to 15cm. Her daughter said doctors gave no treatment beyond paracetamol and told her to enjoy life. The NHS standard is 62 days from referral. The family has raised over £4,500 of a £16,000 target for treatment at a hospital in India.
