Denmark produces first e-methanol, a fossil fuel alternative
A company in Denmark has produced the first e-methanol at its Kassø Power-to-X facility. This marks a significant step in creating a sustainable fuel alternative, using biogenic CO2 and renewable energy sources. The facility can produce 42,000 tons of e-methanol annually, with plans to ramp up production in the coming months. This innovation aims to help industries like shipping and aviation reduce their reliance on fossil fuels. E-methanol can replace fossil fuels in heavy transport and serve as a raw material in the chemical industry. It is also essential for producing sustainable aviation fuel, supporting efforts to lower carbon emissions.
