Delta Air Lines adds Melbourne to its list of longest routes starting December 2025
Delta Air Lines will start flights to Melbourne, Australia, in December 2025, marking its third Australian city. This new route will operate three times a week using a 275-seat Airbus A350-900, joining Qantas and United in the market. The addition of the Los Angeles to Melbourne route replaces Los Angeles to Shanghai Pudong in Delta's top 10 longest routes. Four of the previous longest routes have been cut or will end soon, reflecting changes in Delta's operations. Delta's longest route remains Atlanta to Johannesburg, operating daily. The airline is also introducing new aircraft, the A350-1000, expected to arrive in 2026, which will have a higher capacity and more premium seating.
