Delhi police ready air raid shelters, emergency unit

Delhi police are preparing air raid shelters and forming a specialized emergency response unit to handle potential disasters. This is in response to growing concerns. The police have identified potential shelters in buildings and metro stations, and are compiling lists of vulnerable residents for evacuation. A new force of 270 officers, the DPDRF, is being trained for various emergencies. The DPDRF will handle natural disasters, man-made incidents, and CBRN emergencies, working with civil defense volunteers and resident associations to educate the public.
