Delhi hotel stabbing: Man kills girlfriend, attempts suicide

A woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her boyfriend at a hotel in Delhi’s Lahori Gate area, after which the accused attempted suicide by consuming poison, police said Thursday. The couple, a man from Rajasthan and a woman from Bihar, had checked into Hotel Prince on Wednesday evening. Police said the man attacked the woman with a knife during the night, critically injuring her, before consuming poison himself. Hotel staff discovered the woman in a pool of blood Thursday morning, and she was declared dead at the scene. The accused was hospitalized, the woman’s body sent for post-mortem, and an investigation is underway.
