Delhi court seeks police report on FIR plea against CM Rekha Gupta

hindustantimes.com —

A Delhi court on Saturday sought a status report from police regarding a complaint requesting an FIR against Chief Minister Rekha Gupta over remarks allegedly comparing government officials to Hanuman. The next hearing is scheduled for October 15. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Ashwani Panwar directed the Kashmere Gate police station officer to file the report. The complaint was filed by Ram Niwas Sharma under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, alleging the remarks were made on September 23, 2025. The alleged comments occurred during a DTC bus service launch event at Kashmere Gate ISBT, where Gupta reportedly admonished officials for not working systematically. Sharma contends the remarks warrant criminal action against the chief minister.
