Debbie McGee reveals final days with husband Paul Daniels in new memoir

Debbie McGee has revealed the intimate details of her husband Paul Daniels' final weeks in her new autobiography, A Magical Life, describing how she cuddled him on his hospital bed and told him he was the best thing that ever happened to her, ten years after his death at age 77. The couple met in 1979 and married in 1988, and after Daniels showed unusual tiredness and balance problems in 2015, a CT scan revealed a glioblastoma spreading across his brain. Doctors advised McGee to take him home and make him comfortable, and she recalls a peaceful month of watching television and short walks before his death on March 14, 2016. McGee, now 67, says she only cried in front of Paul once, during a film, and that she still tells herself how lucky she was to have had their fairy tale life together, hoping he knew she was loving him until the very end.
