Deadly Riyadh Airport Attack Kills Three, Including Saudia Pilot
Three people were killed in two attacks on Thursday at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, including a Saudia airline pilot, with several others wounded. The attacks targeted airport facilities and an aircraft. Saudi Arabia's Civil Aviation Authority confirmed the deaths of three Saudi citizens and injuries to citizens and residents of various nationalities. Iran-backed Houthi forces in Yemen claimed responsibility for the attack on the capital's airport. The assault was the deadliest in the country since Saudi Arabia and allied forces launched a major military offensive in neighboring Yemen last weekend against Houthi forces. Airport operations have since returned to normal, and a Sudanese citizen died in a separate attack at the same location earlier this week.
