David Beckham's debut took place at Brighton's former Goldstone Ground now replaced by a retail park

David Beckham made his professional football debut in 1992 at Brighton's Goldstone Ground, not the current Amex Stadium. The Goldstone Ground, which opened in 1902, was sold in 1997 and is now a retail park, including a Lidl supermarket. Brighton faced challenges after losing their home, playing at Gillingham's Priestfield for two years before moving to Withdean Stadium. They eventually built a new stadium in Falmer and have since established themselves in the Premier League.
