Davao Oriental inaugurates first shared service facility
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has opened its first shared service facility in Davao Oriental, named "MADE in DAVLAB." This facility, inaugurated on March 5, aims to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and students in design and innovation. The project was developed in partnership with Davao Oriental State University and is part of a broader initiative by DTI to enhance productivity in the region. Since 2013, DTI has launched 294 similar facilities across Davao. In 2024, DTI allocated P36 million for shared service facilities, with P10 million specifically for MADE in DAVLAB. The program provides MSMEs access to modern equipment, reducing individual investment costs and promoting economic growth.
