Daniel Casey finds support from John Nettles for Midsomer Murders stage role

Actor Daniel Casey is returning to Midsomer Murders in a stage adaptation, playing a role previously held by John Nettles. Casey, who starred as Sergeant Troy from 1997-2003, will portray Detective Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby. He described Nettles as supportive, recalling a message received after losing his parents. Nettles advised Casey to be himself in the role. Casey's wife also appeared in the original series nearly thirty years ago.
