Danbury City Council approves zoning changes for new west side firehouse

Danbury is proceeding with plans for a new west side firehouse after the City Council approved a resolution to amend zoning for the proposed site. The city is working to acquire approximately 3 acres for $675,000 within "The Reserve" complex on Old Ridgebury Road. This move is part of a voter-approved $50 million bond for fire department infrastructure upgrades. The new station, referred to as Station 27, aims to improve emergency response times in the western part of the city. A new ladder truck for the station is also expected soon.
