Cuba endorses Raul Castro's grandson for U.S. talks

Cuba's Communist Party has endorsed Raul Guillermo Rodriguez Castro, grandson of former leader Raul Castro, as an intermediary in talks with the United States. The party confirmed his role in diplomatic contacts, stating he is participating in negotiations by decision of the country's highest leadership. Prime Minister Manuel Marrero reinforced the government's account of the dialogue. Rodriguez Castro, who holds no formal position, has access to classified reports and discusses them with his grandfather. His public appearances had previously drawn criticism from some government-aligned figures.
