CT scan outage at Hamirpur medical college hits patients hard

The CT scan facility at Medical College Hamirpur and its hospital has been non-functional for a week, forcing patients to seek expensive private lab tests. This has increased financial strain on economically weaker families, who now pay up to 2,000 rupees per scan. The hospital's OPD sees 1,500 to 3,000 patients daily, many of whom are advised CT scans for accurate diagnosis. Patients like Rajiv, Kuldeep, Pankaj, and Anil expressed frustration over the added costs and have urged the administration to restore the service quickly. Additionally, the medical college's elevator has broken down again after being repaired a week ago, raising concerns about management's efficiency. Medical Superintendent Dr. Deshraj Sharma stated that the scan is closed due to earthwork and assured prompt resolution of patient issues.
