Crown Point leads top boys basketball teams in Region for 2024-25 season

Crown Point starts the 2024-25 boys basketball season ranked No. 1, bolstered by junior guard/forward Dikembe Shaw, a Division I prospect. The team recently won its first regional title since 1998 and added transfer Bryce Peters. East Chicago Central is ranked second after winning its first sectional title since 2017. The Cardinals return four starters, including senior guard/forward Dominique Murphy, an Indiana Junior All-Star. They have moved down to Class 3A this season. Portage, ranked third, aims to capitalize on its experienced roster, including Air Force recruit Garrett Clark. West Side and 21st Century follow, with both teams looking to build on previous successes and strong player returns.
