Criterion Channel expands collection with restored classics and cultural events
The Criterion Channel has expanded its collection of art-house and independent films, featuring newly restored classics. Notable additions include David Schickele’s “Bushman” and Med Hondo’s “West Indies: The Fugitive Slaves of Liberty,” showcasing diverse global cinema. Recent restorations also include Frank Borzage’s “Man’s Castle” and Martha Coolidge’s “Not a Pretty Picture,” both highlighting significant themes in American independent film. The channel now offers a selection of Czech New Wave films, enhancing its international offerings. In addition to film, the Criterion Channel is promoting various cultural events, including a retrospective of Annie Leibovitz's photography and performances at Joe’s Pub, featuring artists like Mx. Justin Vivian Bond and Bridget Everett.
