CPI MP urges PM Modi to protect Gen Z protesters and withdraw cases

Communist Party of India Rajya Sabha leader P. Sandosh Kumar has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to protect Gen Z protesters from harassment and withdraw all cases filed against them following recent paper leak protests. Kumar stated that students led the protest movement independently, without political manipulation, driven by repeated paper leaks, a failing examination system, and the suicides of twenty students, which forced Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to resign. He cited videos showing right wing groups intimidating protesters at Connaught Place in Delhi and reports of RSS workers pressuring students' parents. Kumar contrasted Modi's social media engagement with young people against what he called a campaign of harassment by the Prime Minister's political allies, arguing that a confident government would not allow ideological mobs to target students seeking a fair education system.
