Court convicts three in Madurai for accident claim theft

A former court staff, his wife, and an accomplice were sentenced for money laundering related to the misappropriation of accident claims compensation funds. The Second Additional District Court in Madurai convicted the individuals for purchasing properties with ₹1.15 crore stolen from the Third Additional District Court in Pattukottai. The former court staff, a translator, transferred funds from motor vehicle accident cases to his accounts. The court ordered the sale of confiscated properties, with proceeds going to the Pattukottai court. The defendants' sentences will run concurrently with a previous conviction.
