Couple transforms Victorian building in Toronto's Little Portugal into modern home
In 2019, Christopher Wannamaker and Edward Wang purchased a Victorian building in Toronto's Little Portugal/Dundas West neighborhood. The property had potential but was stripped of its original character and required extensive renovations, marking their biggest project yet. Renovations began in March 2020, coinciding with the pandemic, causing delays due to material shortages and permit issues. The project, initially planned for 12 months, extended to 18 months, with the couple moving in July 2021 while construction was still ongoing. Their completed home features two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a unique interior courtyard, providing indoor-outdoor living. The ground floor is rented to a salon, and the couple enjoys their vibrant neighborhood, close to restaurants and shops.
