Consumer GPUs outperform expensive AI hardware for password cracking

Expensive AI GPUs do not outperform consumer GPUs at password cracking. A $30,000 Nvidia H200 and AMD MI300X were tested against a consumer Nvidia RTX 5090. The RTX 5090 demonstrated superior hash generation speeds across all tested algorithms. Password cracking does not require specialized hardware, and attackers can break weak passwords with readily available consumer GPUs. Strong, lengthy passwords are the most effective defense.
