National Grid Renewables has started construction on the 100 MW Apple River Solar Project in Polk County, Wisconsin. The project will use U.S.-made solar panels and create 150 jobs during construction. Once operational in late 2025, the solar farm will provide clean energy to Xcel Energy, powering about 26,000 homes annually. It is expected to generate over $36 million in economic benefits over 20 years. The project will also reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 129,900 metric tons each year, equivalent to removing nearly 31,000 cars from the road.
