Connor McDavid achieves nine straight 60-assist seasons

Connor McDavid recorded two assists in the Edmonton Oilers' 3-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils, reaching 60 assists for the season. This achievement places him alongside Wayne Gretzky as the only players in NHL history with nine consecutive 60-assist seasons. Gretzky had 13 such seasons from 1979 to 1992. McDavid, drafted first overall in 2015, only missed the 60-assist mark during his rookie year due to injury. He is on track to potentially surpass Gretzky's record. Additionally, McDavid became the first player since Mario Lemieux to score in 16 straight games against the same opponent. He and teammate Leon Draisaitl tied for fifth-most all-time in game-tying goals.
