Connecticut jury awards Donaldson damages for moldy mansion

A Connecticut jury awarded former MLB player Josh Donaldson over $500,000 in damages due to mold and other issues in his rented mansion. Donaldson sued his former landlord over the uninhabitable conditions of his $55,000-a-month Greenwich, Connecticut rental. The ex-Yankees third baseman claimed the home was plagued by mold and squirrels, leading him to terminate the lease. The lawsuit, filed in June 2022, alleged breach of contract by the landlord. Donaldson, who retired from baseball, had a challenging tenure with the Yankees after a successful stint with the Toronto Blue Jays.
