Congress leader accuses Election Commission of deleting EVM data after Haryana election loss

Congress leader Sarv Mittar Kamboj, who lost the 2024 Haryana assembly elections, accused the Election Commission (EC) of not verifying electronic voting machine (EVM) data and instead deleting it. He claimed this violated Supreme Court directives. Kamboj, who lost by a narrow margin, applied for re-verification of EVMs and VVPATs after paying over Rs 4 lakh. He expressed concerns about discrepancies in the checking process and criticized the EC's handling of election data. He also called out Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar for not thoroughly checking certain booths and ignoring his requests. Kamboj stated that the EC's actions have led to public dissatisfaction and raised questions about the fairness of the elections.
