Company sues TNCC trust to keep land possession
A private company filed an arbitration application with the Madras High Court to prevent the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee Charitable Trust from interfering with its possession of land. Justice N. Mala issued a notice to the trust, returnable by May 15. The company, Blue Pearl Development Private Limited, claims it has possessed the 181 grounds of land for 29 years, based on a 1996 agreement with the trust for a commercial building development. The company alleges the trust is now attempting to dispossess them. The land, located near Kamaraj Memorial Hall, was intended for a commercial project, but gifting land for open space reserve stalled the project. The company seeks to maintain its possession, citing past permission from the TNCC for vehicle parking.
