Community Health Center reports data breach affecting over 1 million individuals in Connecticut
Community Health Center in Connecticut has reported a data breach affecting over 1 million individuals due to a cyberattack. The breach was detected in early January, with hackers accessing sensitive personal and health information. The exposed data varies for regular patients and those who received Covid-19 tests or vaccines. Regular patients may have had their Social Security numbers and health details compromised, while others may have had their names and demographic information exposed. In response, CHC is offering two years of free identity theft protection to affected individuals. They will receive a notification letter with details on how to access this service. CHC also provides a $1 million insurance policy for identity theft recovery.
