Colts project better with Daniel Jones than Anthony Richardson

The Indianapolis Colts have signed quarterback Daniel Jones to compete with Anthony Richardson for the starting position. Jones, who previously played for the New York Giants, has a one-year contract worth $14 million. Richardson, drafted fourth overall in 2023, has struggled with accuracy, completing just 50.6% of his passes in 15 starts. In contrast, Jones has a higher completion rate and led the Giants to a playoff win in 2022. According to the SportsLine Projection Model, the Colts would perform better with Jones, winning an average of 7.9 games compared to 6.5 with Richardson. The model suggests that Jones offers better chances for playoff success as well.
