Collabora Office offers a free, locally installed alternative to Microsoft Office

Collabora has released a free, locally installed desktop office suite called Collabora Office, offering an alternative to Microsoft Office with minimal AI integration. Based on LibreOffice, Collabora Office provides Writer, Calc, Impress, and Draw applications. It features a familiar ribbon-style interface similar to Microsoft Office and supports common file formats for easy collaboration. The suite is currently available for free on Linux, macOS, and Windows. While still in early stages with some minor performance quirks noted, it aims to foster competition and innovation in the office suite market.
