Coinbase calls for US regulators to support banks in offering crypto services
Coinbase has called on U.S. banking regulators to clarify their stance on banks providing cryptocurrency services. This request comes as the crypto industry seeks a regulatory framework to support its growth, amid traditional banks' hesitance to engage with digital assets. Coinbase's Chief Policy Officer criticized regulators for preventing banks from offering crypto services. He sent a letter to key banking regulators, urging them to allow banks to partner with digital asset companies. In January, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission formed a task force to create a regulatory framework for crypto assets. Despite these developments, U.S. banks continue to approach cryptocurrencies with caution.
