Coimbatore launches odour-free micro composting centre initiative

timesofindia.indiatimes.com

Coimbatore is set to launch its first odour-free micro composting centre on Variety Hall Road. This initiative, in partnership with Coimbatore Green Warriors, aims to upgrade existing equipment and infrastructure to reduce unpleasant smells. Currently, only 10 of the city's 36 micro composting centres are operational. The new model will utilize the cocopeat method, allowing for the composting of various waste types without foul odours. Work on the upgrades is expected to start next week, following approval from the local corporation. If successful, similar improvements may be implemented at other centres in the city.
