Codiciado sues ex-label, bandmates for trademark infringement

Mexican singer Codiciado is suing his former record label and bandmates for trademark infringement over a new group's name, Los Codicia2. He claims the name is too similar to his solo artist moniker. The lawsuit, filed Tuesday, alleges that Los Codicia2's name is intentionally misleading fans into believing Codiciado is affiliated with the new group. He asserts this is an attempt to profit from his established brand and divert sales. Codiciado, who went solo in 2023 after leaving Grupo Codiciado, is seeking an injunction and damages. The singer's lawyers state the defendants' actions are causing irreparable harm to his reputation.
