CLP posts HK$5.73 billion profit, pledges Northern Metropolis power boost
CLP Holdings reported HK$5.73 billion underlying profit for the first half of 2026 and pledged investments to boost electricity supply for Hong Kong's Northern Metropolis project. Net profit including one-off gains, mainly from selling Jhajjar Power Station in India, rose 6.6% year on year to HK$5.99 billion. Chairman Michael Kadoorie said CLP will support Hong Kong's five-year plan, accelerate decarbonisation, and strengthen supply to the Northern Metropolis megaproject. For the first time, Kadoorie discussed high-level meetings with Xia Baolong and He Yang, reaffirming CLP's commitment to Hong Kong and mainland China amid a complex international environment and support for national energy plans.
