He described Scott as impatient and accused him of a "lazy" approach to storytelling, relying heavily on computer graphics. Mathieson noted that Scott's use of multiple cameras limits lighting options, which impacts cinematography. He expressed concern that the focus on efficiency leads to a lack of depth and care in the filmmaking process. "Gladiator 2," released on November 15, features Paul Mescal and Denzel Washington, among others. It is a sequel to the Oscar-winning film from 2000.
