Cincinnati teacher indicted on sexual battery charges involving student

Emily Nutley, a 42-year-old teacher at St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, has been indicted on six charges of sexual battery involving a 17-year-old student. The allegations include sending nude photos and engaging in sexual acts in her office. Nutley began teaching at the all-boys school in fall 2023 and supervised a program for students needing academic support. Prosecutors allege the relationship started with explicit text messages and escalated to physical encounters. The case was uncovered during an internal school investigation, which was reported to the police. If convicted, Nutley faces up to 15 years in prison and must register as a sex offender. She is scheduled to appear in court on November 8.
