Irish planning body approved Cillian Murphy and Yvonne McGuinness’s plan to turn Dingle’s historic Phoenix Cinema into an arts and cultural centre. An Coimisiún Pleanála upheld the project despite local appeals over scale, parking, and mixed use. The redevelopment keeps the cinema and adds performance space, studios, café, restaurant, and courtyard. The couple bought the century-old cinema in 2024; it closed during Covid. They now seek state regeneration funding with Kerry County Council.
