Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey' tops $1.1 billion, his biggest hit

Christopher Nolan's film "The Odyssey" has grossed $1.104 billion worldwide in less than a month since its July 17 release, making it the director's highest-grossing movie ever. The production cost $250 million excluding marketing. The film surpassed Nolan's previous record holder, "The Dark Knight Rises" ($1.085 billion), and crossed the $1.104 billion mark in just three weeks. It topped the global box office for two consecutive weekends and holds a 94% Rotten Tomatoes rating. Starring Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Tom Holland, Charlize Theron, and Lupita Nyong'o, the epic is based on Homer's poem. Nolan's combined global box office now exceeds $7 billion.
