Chinese researchers suggest Earth's core may hold 45 times more hydrogen than oceans. Experiments simulating core conditions indicate hydrogen readily mixed with iron during Earth's formation. This implies much of Earth's water originated internally, not solely from comets. The study, published in Nature Communications, estimates hydrogen constitutes 0.07-0.36% of the core's mass.
