Chinese nationals in Karachi drop harassment complaint after government promises investigation
Six Chinese nationals in Karachi have withdrawn their harassment complaint against police after local authorities promised to investigate. They had claimed police restrictions were affecting their business operations. The provincial government stated that grievances should be reported through the Chinese embassy, not the courts. The attorney for the men said they are now satisfied with the government's assurances. Increased security measures for Chinese nationals were implemented after two were killed in a bomb attack last year. The Baloch Liberation Army claimed responsibility for that attack, which raised concerns about the safety of Chinese workers in Pakistan.
