Chinese nationals drop harassment complaint after government assurances in Pakistan
Six Chinese nationals in Karachi have withdrawn their harassment complaint against local police after receiving assurances from provincial officials that their concerns would be investigated. They had claimed police restrictions were harming their businesses. The Sindh provincial government advised that grievances should be addressed through the Chinese embassy. They assured the men that their issues would be looked into. Chinese nationals in Pakistan must notify police before traveling for security reasons, following a bombing that killed two Chinese workers last year. China has called for improved security for its workers involved in major infrastructure projects in Pakistan.
