Chinese national arrested for theft and fraud on Narita Express

A Chinese national was arrested for allegedly stealing cash and credit cards from a backpack on the Narita Express and making fraudulent purchases. The 58-year-old suspect is accused of stealing 100,000 yen and credit cards from a tourist's bag and then using the cards to buy approximately 2.2 million yen worth of goods, including a camera. Authorities are investigating if the suspect is involved in a series of similar thefts targeting foreign tourists on the Narita Express since 2025.
