China's July auto exports surge 81.3% to 1.04 million units

China's automobile exports reached 1.043 million units in July, an 81.3% increase year-on-year, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). This continues a period of strong growth for the sector. From January to July, cumulative exports totaled 6.14 million vehicles, up 66.8% year-on-year. In July, new energy vehicle (NEV) exports hit 553,000 units, a 145.5% increase, accounting for 53% of total exports and surpassing conventional fuel vehicle exports. Top export destinations from January to July included Russia, Brazil, the UK, Australia, and Belgium, with notable growth in several markets. China's annual auto exports have risen steadily from over 3 million in 2022 to over 7 million in 2025, supported by its complete industry chain and strong supply chain resilience.
