China's drone mothership boosts military capabilities
China is set to deploy the Jiu Tian, a "mother ship" drone capable of launching over 100 smaller drones, raising concerns about its military capabilities. This technology could significantly impact regional dynamics. The Jiu Tian, with a 7,000 km range and ability to carry six tons of payloads, including kamikaze drones, is designed to overwhelm enemy defenses. Its deployment is expected by the end of June, adding to China's advanced military technology. This development comes amid heightened tensions with Taiwan, which China views as a breakaway province. The US Department of Defense has also highlighted China's rapid military modernization, including its nuclear arsenal.
