China is preparing to open the world's tallest bridge, drastically cutting travel time across the Huajiang Grand Canyon from two hours to one minute. The Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge, nearing completion in Guizhou province, will stand 2,051 feet above the river, surpassing the Millau Viaduct in France by 947 feet. Construction began in January 2022 and is expected to be completed by summer. The bridge is a significant infrastructure project, with the opening planned for the second half of 2025. Guizhou already hosts a large number of the world's tallest bridges.
