China supports Bangladesh's defense industry with military technology
China has exported military technology to Bangladesh, supporting its defense industry development. This includes technology transfers for weapon manufacturing and agreements on military cooperation, training, and UN peacekeeping operations. A research paper released in Dhaka highlights these collaborations, noting China's assistance in producing small and medium-sized weapons. The paper was presented by Imtiaz Ahmed and China's ambassador to Bangladesh. Bangladesh's defense capabilities have been enhanced since 2012, when it launched its first domestically-produced patrol vessel with Chinese help. Agreements signed in 2014 further solidified military cooperation between the two nations.
