China funeral home faces backlash for using stew pots as urns for cremated remains

A man in southern China has criticized a funeral parlour for providing him with a stew pot as an urn for his deceased baby. The incident occurred in Deqing county, Guangdong province, and has gained attention online. The man, surnamed Chen, visited the funeral home in June to arrange a service after his wife underwent an induced labor. He requested a smaller urn but accepted what was given to him due to his emotional state. Chen paid 2,000 yuan (about US$280) for the funeral service, which included the urn. The funeral home has faced backlash for the choice of urn, which resembled pots used for soup.
