China enhances health cooperation with Djibouti focusing on dengue and traditional medicine
China is increasing its health support to Djibouti, focusing on dengue fever and establishing the country's first traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) center. Djiboutian Health Minister Ahmed Robleh Abdilleh is promoting TCM as part of this initiative. China plans to train 1,300 health workers in TCM over three years. Medical teams in Djibouti have been addressing health issues, including severe cataracts linked to high UV exposure, while also discussing the benefits of TCM for local patients. A new agreement aims to tackle mosquito-borne diseases like dengue fever. China's naval hospital ship recently provided free medical care to thousands in Djibouti, highlighting ongoing health cooperation between the two nations.
