China demands removal of US Typhon missile system from Japan

China demands the US and Japan remove the Typhon missile system deployed in Japan, which was displayed during joint military drills. The Typhon system, capable of launching SM-6 missiles and Tomahawk cruise missiles from land, was showcased during the "Resolute Dragon 25" exercise. Japan stated the system enhances deterrence against armed attacks amid a worsening security environment. China expressed strong dissatisfaction, calling the deployment a substantial threat to regional security and urging its immediate withdrawal. The system was previously deployed in the Philippines, also drawing criticism from Beijing.
