China bans exports to Taiwan military-linked companies

China has implemented export controls on eight Taiwanese companies linked to the island's military, citing national security concerns. The ban, effective immediately, targets firms including aerospace and shipbuilding companies, restricting exports of dual-use items. This action coincides with Taiwan's commencement of its annual military exercises, simulating defense against a potential Chinese invasion. Beijing views Taiwan as its territory and has labeled the island's president a separatist. China's Commerce Ministry stated the controls are a warning against "Taiwan independence" forces.
