Chile's Internal Revenue Service increases honorarium receipt withholding tax

Chile's Internal Revenue Service (SII) will increase the withholding tax on honorarium receipts to 15.25% starting January 1, 2026. This increase is part of a gradual rise established by a 2019 law, aiming to integrate honorarium workers into social protection regimes. The withholding tax will continue to increase annually until 2028, reaching a total of 17% to provide benefits similar to those of dependent workers.
